Sekolah Menengah Sains Banting (SMS Banting or better known as BASiS) is a boarding school located in Banting, Selangor. It is one of the Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP), or fully residential boarding schools, in Malaysia.
Inaugural session of the school pupil registration was carried out on 17
November 2011 ago and started as early as 8.45 am until 11.30 am. SMS
Banting became fully operational on January 3, 2012 with the entry of
form 2/2012 and new student registration form 1/2012 to 4 January 2012.
Tuan Haji Muhamad Kamaludin bin Taib is the first and current principle
of Sekolah Menengah Sains Banting.
Sekolah Menengah Sains Banting is located 6 km from the town of Banting.
The school covered about 24 acres of land in Jalan Sultan Suleiman Shah
Jugra. The school is also located with some other institution such as Kuala Langat Community College, Selangor Matriculation College
and Industrial Training Institute. BASiS is occupied with a multi
purpose hall, academic block, residential block(both student and
teachers), a mosque and a cafeteria. Recreation and playground zone
contain a football and rugby field, a hockey field, 2 basketball
court(both men and women), 2 tennis court, 3 badminton court, 2 sepak
takraw court, 2 volleyball court, a grand stand and 3 badminton court
inside the hall.
